Insights Discovery, the Engage way

Understand your natural style—and flex your approach to get better results.

Insights Discovery gives people a simple, memorable language for understanding how they work. We use that insight to help leaders and teams communicate more clearly, handle differences and adapt their behaviour when the job requires it.

What it is

A useful language—not a label.

Insights Discovery is a development tool based on the psychology of Carl Jung. A short evaluator produces a personal profile and an accessible colour-energy language for discussing behavioural preferences.

The profile is a starting point. It does not measure ability, intelligence or competence, and it should never put somebody in a box. Its value comes from a well-facilitated conversation and what people do differently afterwards.

The Engage principlePreference explains what feels natural. Effectiveness depends on choosing the behaviour the situation actually needs.

Three levels of value

Insight that improves day-to-day performance.

We move deliberately from personal understanding to practical action. The colours make the conversation easier; the goal is better judgement, stronger relationships and more effective leadership.

01

Start with me

Self-awareness

Understand what you naturally bring—and what others may experience.
  • Recognise strengths and overused strengths
  • Spot blind spots, triggers and pressure responses
  • Make conscious choices about personal impact
02

Between people

Relationships

Use difference more productively instead of repeatedly getting caught by it.
  • Adapt communication so it is heard
  • Handle tension and challenge more constructively
  • Improve interfaces across roles and functions
03

Lead the situation

Situational leadership

Choose the most effective behaviour—even when it is not your preference.
  • Read what the task, person or moment requires
  • Stretch beyond comfortable habits
  • Lead with greater range and intention

A profile with a purpose

The report helps start the right conversation.

A personal profile can surface working style, decision-making, communication preferences, strengths, possible blind spots and approaches to people who work differently.

We test the report against real experience, involve feedback where useful and turn the most relevant observations into a small number of practical commitments.

“The question is not which colour you are. It is what you now understand—and what you will do differently.”
  1. 01
    Complete the evaluator

Each participant completes a short online evaluator to generate their personal profile.

  2. 02
    Make sense of it together

A facilitated debrief or workshop tests the profile against real roles, relationships and experience.

  3. 03
    Apply it

People agree specific changes to communication, leadership or team behaviour—and revisit them where useful.

Where Insights fits

Behaviour is one part of how a team performs.

Insights Discovery helps teams see how different people tend to communicate, engage and respond. That is what we mean by behavioural diversity: the everyday differences that can either strengthen performance or create recurring friction.

Trust, inclusion, candour, clarity, accountability and a spirit of achievement.

FourSight Certified
Complementary when needed

A second lens on how the team thinks.

Insights explores behavioural preferences. FourSight adds thinking preferences across the problem-solving process—how people clarify, ideate, develop and implement. Used together, they reveal different but complementary patterns.

Modular by designInsights can be used independently. FourSight or the wider Engage Team Potential™ approach is introduced only when the team's challenge calls for it.

Useful starting points

Start with the person, team or leadership challenge in front of you.

Insights can be a focused engagement in its own right, or a shared language that supports wider team and leadership development.

Individual

Leader profile and coaching

Build self-awareness around current responsibilities, relationships and a specific leadership challenge.

Intact team

Team working session

Make differences discussable, improve important interfaces and agree practical ways of working.

Leadership group

Leadership development

Develop behavioural range, situational judgement and a common language across managers.

Larger audience

Conference or cohort

Create an engaging shared experience, then connect the learning to day-to-day collaboration and delivery.

Why Engage Technique

Experienced facilitation, grounded in how organisations actually run.

Mark Whybrow has used Insights Discovery for more than a decade with senior leadership teams, operational teams, individuals and large groups. His commercial and leadership background keeps the conversation grounded in the actual demands of managing people and delivering results.

That means no colour exercises for their own sake. Sessions are built around a relationship that needs to work, a leadership behaviour that needs to flex or a team issue that keeps getting in the way. The aim is a shared language people continue to use after the workshop—and better performance as a result.
